Activity cluster 2. Food security consultation EKN-Agri-ProFocus
In May - June 2011, the Agri-ProFocus Uganda network and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) have implemented a joint consultation among Ugandan stakeholders and Agri-ProFocus Dutch members on Food Security. The aim of this itinerary finds its inspiration in:
- The wish of EKN Uganda to develop a new multi-annual strategic plan to support Food Security in Uganda.
- The identification within Agri-ProFocus Uganda of Food Security as a cross-cutting issue in which several Agri-ProFocus members have taken a specific interest.
This broad consultation was to share knowledge and good practices as well as mapping relevant stakeholders involved in food security in Uganda and resulted in highlighting priorities.
Collaborating organizations
The process has taken advantage of Agri-ProFocus Uganda thematic groups with a special role of the “Food Security Group" (see below under activity cluster 2) to compile and package all relevant knowledge and information. On the coordinating team for this consultation were Bernard Conilh de Beyssac (for Agri-ProFocus), Charles Drazu (EKN), and Sarah Muzaki (Agri-ProFocus) as well as Willem Heemskerk (KIT).
