Promoting farmer entrepreneurship
Many Ugandan farmer’ organisations are characterized by stagnant and non evolving leadership. Leadership is often donor and project driven, rather than constituency or market-driven. Farmers’ Organisations (FO) often also lack the assets, skills and management to be an agent for farmer entrepreneurship.
The APF group on Farmers'organisations aims to identify and document best practices and models around farmer entrepreneurship, to develop harmonized strategies to support FOs and identify viable economic FOs at grassroots level.
Collaborating organisations
Coordination of this group is in the hands of David Muwonge from Nucafe. Members of the coordinating team are: Send a Cow Uganda, SNV, Agriterra , TRIAS and Makerere Universit.
